报告内容简介:The thermoacoustic effect relies on the interaction between a porous material and an oscillating gas. Based on this interaction, two kinds of cyclic thermodynamic machines can be build: thermoacoustic engines, which convert thermal power into acoustic power and thermoacoustic heat pumps, which use the acoustical power of an external source to produce a heat transfer from a cold source to hot one. Many thermoacoustic systems based on this principle have been developed since the first one in the early 1980s. Besides the possibility to achieve a high efficiency, thermoacoustic machines have a simple construction with no moving parts and they usually operate with inert gases which are environmentally friendly. These advantages compared to conventional engines make them attractive in a wide variety of applications. In particular, thermoacoustic heat pumps can be used to generated heating or air conditioning, while thermoacoustic engines can be coupled to an alternator in order to produce green electricity from waste heat recovery. The presentation will focus on the research conducted by the thermoacoustic team at LAUM which aims to provide new physical insights about the behavior of thermoacoustic systems and to propose new dimensioning and new methods of control in order to optimize the efficiency of these devices.
